How to Add a Song to Your Spotify Library Directly from Instagram

Sharing Instagram Stories and Post on Spotify

The good news is that Spotify and Instagram have integrated a new add-on into their apps that allows users to add songs directly from Instagram posts or stories to their Spotify library.

To add songs from Instagram posts or stories to your Spotify library, here’s what you need to do based on the new integration between Instagram and Spotify:

Link Instagram to Spotify

Link your Instagram and Spotify accounts: This is the first thing to do. First of all you need to link or connect your Spotify account to your Instagram account. This is a “must-do task” for the feature to work.

To link your Instagram account to your Spotify account, open the Spotify Music app and go to the “Settings” by tapping the gear icon. Scroll down and find the “Social” section, then select “Connect to Instagram.”

You’ll be prompted to log in to your Instagram account and authorize the connection. Once linked, you’ll be able to use features like adding songs directly from Instagram posts or stories to your Spotify library.

Add Song to Spotify Library Directly from Instagram

To add song to your Spotify Library from your Instagram account, tap on a song in an Instagram post or Story. When you come across a song shared in someone’s Instagram post or story, tap on the song. It can also be on your Instagram story or post.

Look for the ‘Add’ button and click on it. A Spotify “Add” button will appear next to the song’s listening player previewer. This button allows you to save the song directly to your Spotify library without leaving Instagram.

Save to Spotify. Once you tap the “Add” button, the song will be added to your Spotify “Liked Songs” playlist and will also be visible in the “Your Library” tab.

This feature is available globally for both Android and iOS users. However, it’s important to make sure both apps are updated to the latest versions for the integration to work smoothly.

You will be able to update the social apps on your smartphone’s App Store; Google Play Store or iOS App Store. Lastly, it worth noting that TikTok also has a similar feature, which works not only with Spotify but also with Apple Music and Amazon Music.
